It’s very durable, came with the extra clips, and if you’re backpacking this is a solar panel that won’t add less space in your pack or even add on unnecessary weight. I highly recommend! This solar charger kicks ass! Just took it on a 10 day sea kayak expedition in Baja! It would charge my phone up full from 50% battery in less than an hour! Super impressed. Everything I hoped for.

Amazing Charger I finally got a sunny day to test this Dual USB Solar Charger and I am very happy with it. I like the packaging. Folding it up protects the solar panels and makes for a very comfortable product to pack away. The it works incredible. I put a spare cell phone on the Dual USB Solar Charger that has a 1650 mAh battery and was at 70% charge. In 30 minutes on the Solar Charger the phone was at 94% full. I'm amazed at how efficient this Dual USB Solar Charger performs. Thank you Foxelli for another great product. I couldn't be happier with this Solar Charger and am looking forward to using it a lot this summer while on camping and hiking trips.

Solar Made Easy Small enough to carry and big enough to charge small devices.

10w Solar Charger It's a nice for those who do not require much in the way of charging, but it has it's limits. I used it under ideal circumstances so this review is, IMO, based on the best performance it's capable of producing. Scenario: Mostly sunny day in Florida with temperatures hitting in the mid 80's when I started charging a totally drained 10400 mAh battery bank in a cleared area with no obstructions from trees to block the sunlight at 11:30 am. I cut three small branches and crafted a stand, using two uprights and a cross piece at the top to secure the charger to using the provided carabiners. I staked stand into the ground at an angle to keep the solar panels at a 90 degree angle to the sun and have the ability to adjust it throughout the day. I placed my battery bank under the panels in the shade it provided to keep it as cool as possible while charging. Charge Times and conditions: The first two hours where totally sunny, not a cloud in the sky. By 1:30 PM my battery bank had one of 4 bars solid and the second bar was flashing indicating it was somewhere between 25% and 50% charged. At this point the conditions changed to partly cloudy. For the next 4 hours the sun was behind clouds approximately 30 to 40% of the time and the clouds were just dense enough to scatter the lighting so there wasn't a noticeable shadow under the solar panels. At 5:15 pm the battery bank hit a solid two bars indicating it was 50% charged. At 5:30 pm a dark storm cloud rolled in and it started to sprinkle so I ended the test. What can my battery bank charge at 50%? My Samsung Galaxy Sky phone (2600 mAh battery) nearly two full charges if completely drained - my dead phone and a small Bluetooth speaker after 3 hours of use - my dead phone and two Foxelli 180 lumen headlamps with two to three hours of continuous use on each light - my dead phone and a 220 lumen lantern after 3 hours of continuous use. As for the charger's construction, it appears to be made of quality materials but I'm left wondering how the loops are secured and how well they will stand up to time. They appear to be stitched over and I can't tell if the loops end with a small T bar or some other means like glue to reinforce the single row stitching. They certainly feel tight and secure while tugging on them so this may not be an issue at all. Secondly, the pocket is worthless for anything other than storing the attached USB connector. It is secured by a 2 inch long piece of Velcro in the middle of the pocket so it can't be used to store your USB cables (they may fall out) and it's too small to close with a phone or battery bank inside. Having said that, there is a warning printed on the pocket not to store any devices in the pocket while exposed to direct sunlight or the heat may damage your device's battery. That means you will need to provide a place to store the items you are charging. There are six loops and four grommets positioned around the charger for securing it to various objects like a bushcrafted stand, your back pack, or the side of a tent. The loops are large enough to accommodate makeshift toggles, giving you a quick release option if you forget the carabiners or need additional anchor points in windy or rigorous trail conditions. There is also a D-Ring positioned under the pocket to use as a center anchor if you fold the pocket under to accommodate smaller day packs or if there's a chance of rain so the pocket doesn't collect water (you could just as easily flip the charger upside down). I am concerned that the 10 watt charger simply may not be adequate for multi-day hikes where you don't have a base camp to operate out of. If you are relying on GPS, want to relax in the evening and watch a movie on your phone or tablet, like to stay up late and use multiple lights for extended periods and aren't hiking in direct sunlight for the majority of the day with the panels tied to your pack, this charger may not be enough to meet your needs and you should consider the more efficient 21 watt version. Disclaimer: I was provided this charger as part of Foxelli's Test Club and did not purchase it. I can not speak to how well this charger will hold up over time as it is a new item but I do have experience with other Foxelli products and their after-sale customer support. This is a company that will not put their label on crap and stands behind their products 100%. In my experience, they went above and beyond to make things right on a headlamp I had a problem with. I am a repeat customer who strongly believes in brand loyalty and Foxelli has earned my repeat business. I have no doubt that this charger will live up to my expectations and if, for whatever reason it doesn't, I know the company will.

Great, Lightweight Solar Charger ... I just received mine 3 days ago. I had a chance to take it out on an overcast Maine spring day. In spite of the cloud cover, it was able to charge a single device with no trouble. I look forward to taking it out in the full sun and trying two devices. It folds nicely into a manageable size and weighs little enough that I would not hesitate to take it out on the trail. My charging cables will fit into the pouch with the USB connections. I think this is going to work great with my Foxelli USB chargeable headlamp, USB chargeable battery backup, and my phone.

Great little travel charger Nice, light solar charger for times when another method of charging is not available. The multiple gromwts and attachment points make it easy to set up. It worked well for charging my cell phone.

Foxelli Solar Charger 10W I am blown away at how well the Foxelli 10W Solar Charger works. I tested it over two days in very different light conditions. The first day was 40 degrees and sunny. I charged my work phone, an iPhone 6s, from 20% to 100% in 1 hr and 42 minutes. The next time I tested it, the weather was 46 degrees and completely overcast with periodic sprinkling. This time I was attempting to charge a completely drained iPhone 7+. I managed to charge the phone to a very respectable 53% in 3 hrs. This solar charger is an incredible value!

A Must Have This is an absolute must have for any individual that spends time in the outdoors. I'd consider it a vital piece of equipment. It is compact and lightweight for backpacking, hiking, skiing, or a stroll on a wooded trail. Having the assurance that you can have your phone charged in an emergency situation makes this product #11 of the "ten essentials". I highly recommend.

As fast as a wall charger I just received this so I can't vouch for durability or longevity, but comparing against three other charging methods, this solar charger has rates comparable to plugging into an AC/DC wall outlet. I used a Samsung Galaxy S7 with all apps turned off and noted the time in minutes vs. the percent charge difference. The Foxelli solar charger had a rate similar, even a little higher than a wall charger when it was in full sun. The solar charger went from 29% to 81% in 91 minutes. A 2000 mAh power bank and a laptop USB port were much slower. After 100 minutes the charge difference was only 27% and 29%, respectively. I haven't tried the solar charger in cloudy or overcast skies, but indoor fluorescent lighting was not enough for any amount of charging. Assuming the product is durable and the efficiency remains at this level, it is a great product for any kind of outdoor activity and small and light enough to pack with you.
